Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and all the good he did for the world. It is also a time to relax with friends and family, and to give and receive gifts that add value to our lives. Here are five items that should be on every conservative’s Christmas list this year.
#1: A Pocket Constitution
A pocket copy of the Constitution is the perfect gift to give to a conservative for Christmas. It is the blueprint for our country, and it helped to create the greatest country in the history of the world with its system of federalism and checks and balances. Having a copy in your pocket at all times serves many purposes if you are politically active, and it comes in especially handy when trying to win an argument with a big-government liberal!
#2: A Pair of Cowboy Boots
Cowboy boots symbolize many things: rugged individualism, artistry, craftsmanship, etc. They are the ultimate piece of American footwear, and many prominent conservatives, like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Rick Santorum, sport them virtually wherever they go. They come in many different materials, such as shark, bison, ostrich, and caiman. Once they are broken in, they are more comfortable than sneakers, and when they are properly cared for, they can last a lifetime.
#3: “Hillary’s America” DVD
This is a great gift for anyone who wants to discover the history of the Democratic Party that is rarely taught in schools today: its corruption, its connection to the KKK, its support for slavery and Jim Crow, etc. The film is adapted from Dinesh D’Souza’s best-selling book of the same name. Both the film and book also focus on the life of Hillary Clinton from her time as a college student to her two failed campaigns for the presidency. Dinesh D’Souza has been a very vocal critic of both Hillary Clinton and President Obama, and his other recent film, “2016: Obama’s America” is also worth checking out.
#4: A Time for Truth by Ted Cruz
Senator Cruz has spent a lifetime defending the Constitution and America’s founding principles, first as a clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist, then as the Solicitor General of Texas, and now as a United States Senator. A Time for Truth is as much a personal autobiography as it is a political policy book, and each chapter opens with a mini-biography of a “truth-teller,” an influential person who stood up and spoke the truth when it wasn’t popular or convenient. Senator Cruz is a conservative’s conservative, and A Time for Truth is a powerful, thought-provoking read.
#5: The Art of the Deal by Donald J. Trump
After being published in 1987, “The Art of the Deal” held a position on the New York Times Bestseller List for close to a year. It has sold more than one million copies in over a dozen major languages, and it is used in business schools around the country. It contains President-elect Trump’s 11-step formula for success in business and in life, and it provides great insight into how he built his business empire. It is the perfect way to get inside the mind of the man who could potentially be our president for the next eight years.
